Tree-lined streets and Stone Mountain Trail might be enough for some, but the walkability of Candler Park puts it over the top. It’s an easy walk to L5P, Freedom Park and BeltLine. Speaking of easy walks, there’s a neighborhood elementary school and pool. Craftsman-style homes are a dream to come home to after visits to nearby shops and restaurants or the golf course. The real hidden gem is Mulberry Fields, a unique oasis, located down an old city alley off Iverson. There is an open meadow, space for recreation, and active, organic growing happening — it’s a perfect way to honor what was part of a dairy farm in the 1800s, once filled with goats and chickens. Its name came from goat named Mulberry. These days, having a MARTA station within walking distance of most of Candler Park makes it the cream of the crop.
